متن کاملLeft Ventricular Outflow Tract Pseudoaneurysm after Aortic Valve Replacement.
Left ventricular outflow tract pseudoaneurysm is an uncommon complication following aortic valve replacement (AVR), occurring most frequently secondary to endocarditis. We present a case of a 47-year-old female with a history of intravenous drug abuse and a past surgical history of two AVRs (2001 and 2009 with aortic root replacement for endocarditis) who presented with symptoms of lower extrem...
متن کاملLeft Ventricular Pseudoaneurysm after Valve Replacement
We present a case of left ventricular pseudoaneurysm, which is a very rare and fatal complication of cardiac procedures such as mitral valve replacement. A 55-year-old woman presented to the Department of Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgery at Hanyang University Seoul Hospital with chest pain. Ten years prior, the patient had undergone double valve replacement due to aortic regurgitation and mi...
متن کاملSutureless Aortic Valve Replacement in a Patient with Transfemoral Aortic Valve Replacement and Left Ventricular Hypertrophy
Background Transarterial valve intervention (TAVI) is valuable in high-risk patients, however, in case of left ventricular outflow tract (LVOT) obstruction, conventional surgery, including partial myectomy, is indicated. Case Description An 84-year-old female patient presented with increasing fatigue after TAVI in 2012, demonstrated a narrowed LVOT. Conventional surgery was performed, including...
متن کاملNovel Percutaneous Apical Exclusion of a Left Ventricular Pseudoaneurysm After Complicated Transapical Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement.
A 78-year-old woman with a history of coronary artery bypass grafting underwent transapical transcatheter aortic valve replacement with a Sapien XT (Edwards, Irvine, California) prosthesis that was complicated by an apical left ventricular pseudoaneurysm (LVPA). Unsuccessful attempts at closure included percutaneous, retrograde transaortic placement of a 12-mm Amplatzer Ventricular Septal Defec...
